And It’s Off…

to the printer on July 9, 2021!

This was a momentous day in our world after years of writing, editing, rewriting, fact checking, photo editing, copy editing, designing, more copy editing, and did I mention writing? Judging Hunters and Equitation WTF? (Want The Facts?) traveled across the internet and the country from New Jersey to California yesterday to be printed.

This concept for this book was born on a road trip to a horse show (of course), where Julie and I spent hours developing an outline and brainstorming how we could explain the judging process. At the time, Julie was the co-chair of the United States Equestrian Federation Licensed Officials Committee, and helping to improve the sport was a major focus of her life. We both believed a book demystifying what happens in that judge’s booth and in a judge’s mind would go a long way toward helping people better understand the sport we all love.

Fast forward several years and countless hours at the computer, and all 288 pages are now completed. During the writing and photography journey, we were grateful to have many of our top judges assist us with their words of wisdom. Their thoughts and images of them judging are sprinkled throughout the book
